Blackhill Engineering, the primary fabrication and machinery arm of SC Group-Global, has been awarded ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems certificate.

This certification follows a continuous improvement programme which was implemented post the award for Management Systems of Occupational Health and Safety, ISO 45001

Mike Simcox, MIET, Business Assurance and Quality Manager said, “This ISO 14001 certification provides our organisation with the practical tools to manage our environmental responsibilities in line with international standards.  We feel privileged to have secured this certification as our ambition is to become a green organisation”.

As a leading fabricator in Exeter, Devon this certificate demonstrates the organisations passion for becoming green; helping to reduce costs, overheads and wastages while ensuring legislative awareness and compliance is achieved. This standard is significant for securing further contracts within the marine fabrication, construction and nuclear industries.

Blackhill Engineering joined the SC Group seven years ago and has truly benefited from the group’s investment in people, facilities and processes. This investment has opened up new markets, expanding the quarrying and mineral handling into nuclear new build and decommissioning, civil engineering & construction, space & telecommunications, marine & offshore, oil & gas, renewables and automotive.
